Identifying Risk Factors for Temporomandibular Joint Disorder

The Austin dentists of Bridgeview Dental have examined the results of a study conducted by researchers at the University of Buffalo School of Dental Medicine, which recently released the results of a long-term study to identify risk factors for temporomandibular joint disorder (TMJD), a painful condition affecting the joint which connects the jaw to the skull. The results of the study reveal that those who suffer from TMJD may be more likely to suffer from a range of other issues as well, including hearing disorders such as tinnitus, fainting and dizziness, and seizures. By identifying these associated conditions, researchers hope to be able to more accurately identify those at risk of TMJD.
